You already know my name, and since You have seen the trouble to come this far I suppose
You want to know more about me. That's a good start! You are being warned... Here it comes!

I am 32 years of age (yeap, an oldie) and I was born in Iisalmi, the hometown of Olvi-beer. After spending almost twenty years of my life there I moved to Kuopio to study computing at the commercial college. After graduating in '92 I continued my studies at the University of Kuopio, in the department of Computing and applied mathemathics. I spent the semester 94-95 studying in the UK, at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston where I gained the BSc (Hons) in Computing. I have finished my studies in May '98, and I wrote my master thesis about usability. Now I continue my work in Nokia Mobile Phones as Senior Engineering Manager, and simultaneously my studies as an graduate student at the University of Tampere. In addition to that I started studies also at the Technical University of Tampere! Though, it seems that my career as a graduate student/regular student is not proceeding very fast, because work take most of my time at the moment. Are You bored? (must be by now...) Oh, not yet? Good, 'coz the interesting parts are just coming...

So much for my academic career! How do I spend my spare time then? Besides spending most of my time with my dear husband Veppe I have quite a lot of "hobbies". I just love photography. I have my camera with me almost everywhere I go, so if You happen to see me without it, that's a rare occasion! Currently I am reading literature on digital photography and image processing, as I have bought my second digital camera. A new hobby of mine is cats. Currently we have 3 cats, and I adore them, and play with them a lot. I also like going to movies and watching videos or dvd's, especially with Veppe. I love to travel, too. Listening to good music is one of my activities. But, I can't just name one band which I like, because I listen so many kinds of music. I suppose I could say that punk and jazz are the only areas I dislike, because they'll give me a headache! I also like Cycling in the summer. In addition to this I like to do some walks in the nature, but that's mainly elsewhere than in Tampere. I also do some needlework. :)

In addition to activities listed above, I like to spend some of my time in IRC, whenever it is possible. And, as You can guess, it is not very often. I am staying in the channels where friends are, but most of the time I am only idling. (Well, hmm... some might say I am an addict, but I'd say I am not addicted to IRC, just to my friends ;) I usually hang on in #salibandidos, and in #Tampere. In IRC I am known as messi. Now You might wonder about that strange nick... I got it when I was studying in Preston in '95. But my friends Yeti, Redfoot or LostBoy could tell you more about it!

When I was studying I was also active in student life (Just loved the overall parties, You know :). As a proove of that I have been a member of SERVERI's government. SERVERI is the organization of computer science students at the University of Kuopio. In Finland it is typical that students have a lot of overall parties, and that is sure a lot of fun!
